There’s been a lot of buzz around MCP lately, and for good reason. It’s a major step forward in letting AI assistants do real work, not just talk about it. But the protocol isn’t the whole story. The magic happens in the use cases: booking meetings, sending emails, creating tasks—automatically. In our latest Zap Digest we break down where MCP fits, how Zapier Agents paved the way, and go over some opportunities to learn more.

How did Zapier get 84% of the company using AI every day? We might just drop the whole playbook. No strategy decks or basic ChatGPT prompts. I’m talking step-by-step gameplan + secrets for getting your people to think and build AI-first. Want early access if/when it drops? Comment “DO IT WADE”. (If you tag him he can't ignore me 😈 .)

Confession: I tried to replace myself with AI. Temporarily. For a Harvard study! 👇 Of course they called it “The Wade Test” lol We asked our team to see if they could spot which messages were from me and which were from a WadeBot that learned from my past communications. 41% of Zapiens couldn’t tell the difference. Most interesting part: If folks think a message is AI-generated (even incorrectly), they rated it as less helpful. Shows how much our perception of AI shapes how we trust its communication… Tons of good stuff in this Bloomberg article, which also features Sam Liang, Mary Barra, Sebastian Siemiatkowski, Eric S. Yuan, and others. Link in comments

Screengrab from my chat with Joe Zapiain last week. Joe went from living in his car to running a successful automation consultancy 👇 He told me “You don't need to be a coder. Just take 2 apps you use every day, and make them talk to each other” Things can change fast. Just a few years ago, Joe was living his dream working on McLarens, but struggling to make ends meet. That’s when he started automating with Zapier. Balancing jobs from his car, he experimented with marketing workflows. His first Zap logged insights from YouTube videos into a searchable knowledge base (that was the lightbulb moment) Fast forward to today, and Joe's running his own consultancy, helping brands and creators optimize with custom CRMs & AI workflows. He even owns equity in six businesses he helps automate. But what hit me most in our convo was his focus on ‘the small wins’. He didn’t have a tech background, but learned to connect apps w/ Zapier and leveled up from there. One use case at a time. Full conversation coming soon. (Who else should I chat with?)

Mortgage marketing isn’t just about creativity—it’s about compliance. Every campaign needs to meet strict regulations, and for Benchmark Mortgage, that used to mean manual review bottlenecks. Now? Compliance approvals take minutes instead of days thanks to Zapier automation. 🔹 AI-powered compliance review 🔹 Seamless integration with Jotform, monday.com & Dropbox 🔹 Hands-free regulatory tracking “Before this, compliance was a back-and-forth nightmare. Helping you build tools & agents in Zapier to save time & money💰 Built templates used by 144k+ builders | Marketing @Zapier → Follow me to get ahead with Automation and AI.

I put everything I know about AI Agents into one post (along with templates) you can steal here: https://lnkd.in/ermUrp5F Some takeaways: 1. Agents are like Zaps, but typed → You still define a trigger → But you type out the steps 2. Start with the data → AI is best with data → Zapier Tables give your Agent real-time context 3. Delegate like you hired someone →Think assistant-level tasks → Speed and scale beat a human 4. Typed instructions = speed → Faster to build → Even faster to edit 5. Decide on the deliverable → What’s the end result? → Then reverse-engineer the system 6. Build systems, not just Agents → Agents need context → Use Tables, Zaps, and Interfaces 7. Use decision-making frameworks → Give guidance so... → ...you understand how your Agents make decisions Best way to learn is to build.
